Wilderness Dogsledding and
CME Course

When;  February 26 - March 2, 2012.

Where;  Wintergreen Adventures in Ely Minnesota.

What;  Five day lodge based dogsledding and CME
course.  Mornings and evenings spent in a
comfortable cabin in site of the Boundary Waters
Canoe Area (BWCA).  In between lectures the days
will be spent on one or two person dogsleds
exploring miles of trails through mixed conifer and
hardwood forest - including century old stands of
White Pines.  A winter camping overnight out is
optional, but has been greatly enjoyed by all
participants who have participated in this.

CME;  Fifteen credits of AAFP Prescribed credits.
This year’s curriculum will include 15 hours of
prescribed AAFP credits. Topics so far include:
-Childhood Obesity
-Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and other pre-natal drug
exposures
-Endocrine for Dummies
-Poisonings in the Pediatric Population
-Drugs of Abuse Update
-Toxicology Myths and Misconceptions -Chest Pain  
Evaluation in the ER
-Geriatric Abdominal Pain
-Geriatric Iatrogenic Poisonings
-Tick Born Infection Update
-Hepatitis C Update
-Clostridium Difficile Update

AAFP prescribed credit is accepted by the American
Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA
Category 1 Credit toward the AMA Physician’s Rec-
ognition Award.

Application for CME credit will be filed with the
American Academy of Family Physicians.  


Cost;  $1750 all inclusive for lodging and meals by
fourth generation French Chef Bernard Herrmann.  
Single rooms are $100 more when available.  
Lodging may involve nights at both Wintergreen
and Timber Trail Lodges.

Families are welcome and encouraged.  Private
family cabins or rooms are an option, as is
participation in the dogsledding or other activities.  
The discounted rate for meals, lodging & all
activities without securing CME credits is $1150
/adult, $950 / youth  (prices are from 2010, and may
vary for upcoming courses).
